Notification of results of assessment of consulting skills

  1. GP Registrars will not normally be advised by the local Deanery Office of the results of the COGPED videotape until at least 8 weeks after its arrival in the Deanery Office

  2. GP Registrars will be advised of the result of MRCGP Consulting skills (video) module by the Examination Department at the RCGP, on a specific date in mid July for the summer examination session, and in mid December for the winter examination session.

  3. GP Registrars attending the Simulated Patient Surgery will be advised of the result of the examination within 2 weeks (this may be greater during period of office closure) from the Simulated Surgery Unit.

  4. In all cases, no correspondence will be entered into until the final result is known. This measure is taken to avoid unnecessary anxiety for those being referred to 2nd or 3rd level.
