Deanery Summative Assessment Offices

  1. Each Deanery has a Summative Assessment Office (‘Deanery Office’) which administers the COGPED component parts of summative assessment: video of consulting skills, audit, MCQ, structured trainer's report and the MRCGP/SA Single route video. A number of Deaneries also administer the NPMS. A list of UK Deaneries and their contact numbers is available on this web site.

  2. Deanery Offices will issue guidance plus a Summative Assessment number to all their GP Registrars at the beginning of their GP Registrarship. GP Registrars should ensure that they know their number, and that it appears on all their submissions/correspondence.

  3. To ensure national consistency and reliability of the summative assessment programme, Deanery Offices are bound by a protocol agreement approved by the competent authority and GPC. This agreement also stipulates requirements of GP Registrars and GP Trainers.
