Requirements of GP Trainers
- Protected time for the GP Registrar is vital.
- Ensure that they and their GP Registrar are familiar with the NPMS
requirements and marking schedule. These should guide the planning of
the project. If possible, set up a project timetable with the GP
registrar.
- Focus on an appropriate size of project
- Be prepared to offer guidance on finding relevant literature and
critical reading.
- All practices and members of staff should be fully aware of the
project being undertaken as the results may affect them.
- If in doubt about your own NPMS knowledge/experience seek help
early from the Associate Director.
- Ensure they sign the
NPMS declaration form to confirm that the project is the work of
the GP Registrar
