I am due to complete my training at the end of July 2007, but I failed the audit/NPMS – what should I do?
Firstly, the Deanery will need to consider whether to offer you a period of further training. If they do, then you will be able to resubmit the audit/NPMS after a suitable period of further training. The audit/NPMS will continue to be routinely accepted until 31 July 2008.
NB. In exceptional circumstances, eg, if a GPR is returning to training after a period of maternity leave or sickness absence and only has a few months to complete – they may be allowed to submit an audit or NPMS after 31 July 2008. This will probably only apply to GPRs who have already completed the MCQ and Consulting Skills components of SA. However they will need to seek the Deanery and NOSA prior approval to do so.
